About MeThe first thing you should know about me is that I am obsessed with dogs. If they did a scan of my brain, it would be in the shape of a one. I love all animals, but dogs are my thing. I have three of my own, two westies and a border collie, and hope to get a working cocker soon. I have had a dog my whole life, the longest I have gone without a dog is 3 months. I am a firm believer that a bond between a dog and its person is such a blessing, one I believe should be treasured. I believe in trust and respect.
My road to becoming a dog trainer wasn’t really something I thought I could do, I have always wanted to work with animals from a young age but I didn’t like blood so didn’t go down the vet route. Plus the way dogs were trained wasn’t something I liked or believed in, it used to come from a place of fear rather than love and trust. (Thankfully we have come a long way since those days, although sadly there are still places and people that train like that.)
It was in 2016 I finally decided to take the leap into the Dog Training world, it was my time as a dog walker that really pushed me down that road. I wanted to understand their behavior and body language more, I wanted to help support my solo walking dogs and understand reactive dogs. I spent a lot of time researching and attending a number of classes to see what fitted my beliefs, which started my journey with Gwen Baileys Puppy School. I spent a few years shadowing classes before getting my qualifications for Dog Training.
Now in 2024 my skill set and my future plans for my business have changed. I will be offering more specialist training classes and workshops, along with 1-2-1 training packages.
I have so many wonderful teachings to show you. I can’t wait for you to join me on this adventure. Be it if you are an experienced handler or a first-time dog owner. It doesn’t matter. I am here to support you through your journey and help you with your struggles.
